City of Hope is one of the largest, hospital-based donor centers in the country. Soon we will be the most modern as well with the opening of the Michael Amini Transfusion Medicine Center, a green-certified, state-of-the-art facility that will enable us to expand our blood collection, analysis, processing and transfusion programs dramatically.
Patients at City of Hope – most of whom are fighting cancer – rely on more than 25,000 units of blood and platelets each year for their survival. And every one of those units comes from people like you – family, friends and other caring individuals who want to make a difference.
Because there is no substitute for human blood, your donation is a lifeline to the men, women and children in our care. Along with strength, it provides hope, for which there is no substitute as well.
